Missing XI

Rebuild a famous starting eleven on the pitch. Every wrong guess unlocks another clue — the club crest, the season, then the opponent.

What is Missing XI?

Missing XI puts a famous starting eleven on the pitch with the names hidden. You rebuild the line-up player by player. Wrong guesses unlock more context — club crest, season, then opponent — so the puzzle teaches memorable teams instead of only testing recall cold.

How to play Missing XI

  1. A famous starting eleven is shown on the pitch with the names hidden.
  2. Name the players to fill in the line-up.
  3. Every wrong guess unlocks another clue — the club crest, the season, then the opponent.
  4. Finish the eleven to complete the round.

What counts as a finished game

A game counts when you finish it.

Strategy tips

  • Identify the shape first (for example 4-3-3 vs 4-4-2) before naming attackers.
  • Use unlocked crest and season clues immediately — they collapse the search space.
  • Fill distinctive roles (sweeper keeper, target striker) before generic midfield spots.
  • Think in tournaments: final XIs and classic league title sides appear often.
  • If stuck, guess a high-confidence name to buy the next clue rather than random spam.
  • After you finish, note the side — the same eras return in Bingo and LINK.

Example round

You recognise a 4-3-3 but cannot name the left-back. A wrong guess reveals the club crest; the next miss reveals the season. With club plus season you can usually name the full back line and close the board.
