MatchDay Arcade
MDA Party Impostor
A multiplayer party game for 3–8 friends. Everyone gets the same footballer except one impostor, who has to bluff through the clues. Discuss, vote, and catch them before they blend in.
What is MDA Party Impostor?
MDA Party Impostor is MatchDay Arcade’s social bluffing game for 3–8 players. Most of the room secretly shares the same footballer; one player is the impostor and must fake their way through the clues. Play in an online room with a code or pass-and-play on one device. It is built for watchalongs, group chats and living-room matchdays.
How to play MDA Party Impostor
- Create a room and share the code with 3–8 friends, or play pass-and-play on one device.
- Everyone secretly gets the same footballer — except one impostor.
- Take turns giving clues without giving the player away.
- Discuss, then vote for who you think the impostor is.
What counts as a finished game
A match counts for the top scorer, or joint top scorers, when it ends.
Strategy tips
- Crew members: give clues that are true but not unique (league, era, position).
- Impostors: mirror the group’s vagueness — over-specific lies get you caught.
- Track who hesitates when the clue round hits a detail they should know.
- Do not pile on the quietest player by default; strong actors often talk early.
- In pass-and-play, guard screens — the game is only fun if roles stay secret.
- After a reveal, talk through the real player so newer fans learn careers between rounds.
Example round
Seven friends join a room. Six see “Thierry Henry”; one sees only that they are the impostor. Clues like “Premier League” and “France” keep the impostor alive; a clue like “invincible season striker” ends the round fast.
Frequently asked questions
- How many players do I need?
- Between 3 and 8.
- Can we play on one phone?
- Yes — use pass-and-play and hand the device around.
- Is this the same as solo Matchday Impostor?
- No. Solo Impostor is a deduction puzzle. Party Impostor is multiplayer bluffing.
- Do we need accounts?
- A host room works best when players can join with the shared code from the party flow.
- What makes a good clue?
- True, broad, and hard for an impostor to fake — without saying the name.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Counted results can award points to the top scorer(s).
